Warning: I have never blogged before
My brother has just pointed out that I spelled "Brazil" incorrectly in the title of my first ever blog. Just for the record, Brazil is the American spelling, and Brasil is the Brazilian spelling. Because I don't really speak any portuguese, I figured the American spelling was just fine, but apparently, everyone is a critic.
Tomorrow at this time, I will be in Salvador (a costal city in the northeast of Brazil) with a handful of other college students from all over the country beginning a semester long program rooted in public health, racial disparity, human rights, and of course, portuguese. As I am not sure what the wifi/communication scene will be like in my new home, I figured it was best to use this blog to share my adventures!
Hopefully, my next post will be a little more interesting, and I will know more portuguese words than apple, milk, boy, and woman.
